Burn Dmg To Bootable Dvd Windows

11/10/2019

Burn a DMG or ISO File to Disk After you have downloaded a program's installation file (.dmg format for a Mac-compatible program,.iso format for a Windows-compatible program) to a Macintosh computer's hard drive, you can burn this.dmg or.iso file to a blank CD or DVD. So you downloaded an.iso or.dmg file, and now you want to burn it to CD or DVD on your Mac. No extra software is required. The delightfully useful Disk Utility built into OS X can burn. The DMG files normally contain program installation files for Apple system and applications, but they can also be used to hold compressed files. With PowerISO, you can manipulate dmg files on Windows PC. PowerISO can burn dmg file directly to a CD / DVD disc. You needn't convert dmg to iso file before burning.

I am trying to create a bootable disc of mountain lion which I downloaded from torrent so that I can install it in my Macbook. Anybody knows how to do it? My Macbook is down and I have purchased mountain lion from appstore. The Internet recovery is not working and apple telephone support is shit. I only have a window PC to do this. I have no access to any mac machine. Please help me!

  1. Try transmac [Broken Link Removed] to create bootable usb of ML

  2. Download Transmac software. On left top under file tab select open disk image. Then choose the file you downloaded mountain lion from torrent. Then on transmac right click on file you mounted into transmac then click burn cd/dvd by inserting blank dvd to your computer tray. Then it creates bootable mountain lion dvd.
go to link: [Broken Link Removed]

  3. it so easy.
    1. Find the image file from the torrent on your pc
    2. Burn it to a dvd or usb
    3. Plugin the usb in your mac or insert the dvd
    4. Change your BIOS settings to startup from dvd or usb on your mac
    5. Power on your mac when the dvd or usb is in the MacBook
    6. Follow installation guide.
    7. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. The easiest way I can think is to run Mountain Lion (or lower) on a virtual machine then use something maybe like SuperDuper! to create a bootable drive.

  5. Pretty sure double-clicking on an ISO file in windows brings up a burn dialog without the need for additional software..

  6. The easiest way is to Google for an ISO and burn it to a DVD with a program like InfraRecorder (http://infrarecorder.org, it's open source). From the main screen choose Write Image, point to the ISO file you downloaded, click Open, then place a blank DVD (not sure how big a DVD you'll need) and click OK. Wait until the process finishes and try booting your Mac from the DVD you just created.

  7. I think that you have got the ISO file downloaded from Torrent site. So,to create a bootable DVD of it,simply burn it with ImgBurn software -

  8. Run Mac on a virtual machine

  9. The only real way to do it with windows is to install an older copy of osx on a virtualbox on your pc and then download mountain lion on that. You will of course need a dvd of the older version of osx to install it in virtualbox

    here is a guide http://www.sysprobs.com/guide-mac-os-x-10-7-lion-on-virtualbox-with-windows-7-and-intel-pc

  10. You can use transmac or power iso

  11. Have you tried using Transmac? Not a bad little program!

    • Hello, how did you end up burning the disk? Do you get any error when trying to install? You can visit following links for possible answers:

    • Did you follow the steps in the link ?
'Do not drag and drop the image file into Disk Utility during this step.'

  7. I want to burn tiger 10.4.6

I have an iso, but I too have a folder with files (I expand it with 7zip).

    • I think burning the ISO file on a disc will work.

  8. Thank you both very much.

    Dmg info

Tell me, what if I want to make an installation disk? Which programm can I use?

    • can you explain which installation disc do you want to make ?
generally writing required setup files on a disc will work, whether it is a folder or files like iso.

    • dmg stands for Apple Disk Images. If you have a dmg image is like having an ISO file in Windows, difference is that dmg images are meant to be mounted. They can be put on dvd, cd, flashdrive, for the purpose of moving them to another computer. To have a better understanding about .dmg images, read the following:

What kind of installation disk do you want to make? If the .dmg file you have is already bootable, you just have to burn it to dvd/cd and it will boot. If you have the .dmg image and a mac, you can use the disk utility. Open disk utility, drag your .dmg into the list of volumes, highlight it, and then select the Burn icon in the toolbar.

  9. Select the dmg file, and the disc you want to write on.

use this guide for the steps:
    http://lifehacker.com/251758/mac-tip--how-to-burn-an-iso-or-dmg-file-to-disc

download iso recorder [BROKEN LINK REMOVED]
    to burn dmg files.

  10. Hello, the only thing you need to do is get a burning software that is capable of burning .dmg images. You can use software like the following:
    http://www.poweriso.com/tutorials/burn-dmg-file.htm
    [BROKEN LINKS REMOVED]
You could also try burning the DVD as Data disk. Open a burning software like Nero, ImgBurn, etc, select the .dmg image you have and then burn the disk. Once disk is burned you can view it in Mac. Now, if it is an installation disk, that would not work.
